Double click on the XTension program icon. The program will start up with several windows already open, with a graphic view and devices for a sample home.
If either AppleScript or the Serial Tool is not installed when XTension starts up, it will try to announce the fact and then quit.
If there is no problem, XTension will start up into a 'demo' mode using the example database.
In this mode, you will be able to simulate X-10 commands and sensors. ( You do not need a X-10 controller to experiment with XTension in this mode. )
You will have to bring up the Preferences dialog, turn off 'Monitor' mode, and enable serial communications before you can actually command an X-10 controller.
